Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 30 October 2026

These terms apply to every quote, order and service provided by Tayo Trade Africa Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at First Floor, 157 London Road, Mitcham, CR4 2YR, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). By accepting a quote or paying a deposit, you (“the customer”) agree to these terms.

1. Our services

We act as your sourcing and buying agent. We find suppliers in China, negotiate and place orders on your behalf, arrange quality inspection, and organise shipping and delivery to East Africa through our logistics and licensed customs partners. We do not manufacture goods ourselves.

2. Quotes

  • Quotes are valid for 7 days unless they state otherwise, because factory prices, exchange rates and freight rates change often.
  • A quote shows what is included: for example product cost, our service fee, inspection, freight, insurance, customs clearance and delivery. Anything not listed is not included.
  • Product photos and samples are for guidance. Small differences in colour, finish or packaging can occur in mass production.

3. Orders and payment

  • Deposit: 50% of the order value is due before we place the order with the factory.
  • Balance: the remaining 50%, plus freight and any other charges in the quote, is due before goods leave China.
  • We accept payment by bank transfer or other methods we confirm in writing. Payment is only treated as received once cleared funds reach our account.
  • If the balance is not paid within 14 days of our request, we may store the goods at your cost, and after 60 days we may sell them to recover our costs, refunding anything left over.

4. Lead times

Production and shipping times are estimates given in good faith. Delays caused by factories, shipping lines, ports, customs or public holidays (such as Chinese New Year) are outside our control, and we are not liable for losses caused by them. We will keep you updated.

5. Inspection and quality

  • We inspect goods before shipping against the specification agreed in writing. You may ask for photos, videos or a third-party inspection report.
  • If we find a problem, we will work with the factory to fix or replace the goods before shipment.
  • Inspection reduces risk but cannot guarantee that every single item is free of defects, particularly in large orders checked by sampling.

6. Duties, taxes and customs

  • Import duty, VAT, excise and other government charges in the destination country are paid by the customer, unless your quote says “delivered duty paid” (DDP).
  • Customs clearance is handled by licensed customs agents. You must give us accurate information and any licences, permits or certificates the goods require (for example KEBS, TBS, UNBS or KRA documents).
  • We are not liable for delays, fines or seizures caused by incorrect information or missing documents provided by the customer.

7. Prohibited and restricted goods

We will not buy or ship anything that is illegal in China, the UK or the destination country, including weapons, drugs, counterfeit or fake-brand goods, hazardous materials without proper certification, or goods under sanctions. We may cancel an order at any stage if we believe it breaks this rule, and costs already incurred will not be refunded.

8. Risk and insurance

  • Risk in the goods passes to you when they are handed to the shipping carrier in China, unless your quote includes door-to-door delivery, in which case it passes on delivery.
  • We strongly recommend cargo insurance. If you decline it, you accept the risk of loss or damage in transit.

9. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations, returns and refunds are covered by our Shipping, Returns & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

10. Our liability

  • Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order.
  • We are not liable for indirect losses, such as loss of profit, business or market opportunity.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

11. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, strikes, port closures, pandemics, government action, or failures by shipping lines or factories.

12. Intellectual property

You are responsible for making sure that any logo, brand or design you ask us to produce does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

13. Complaints

If something goes wrong, contact us at info@tayotrade.com or on WhatsApp +44 7586 611675. We aim to respond within 2 working days.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. We will always try to settle any dispute fairly by agreement first.
